A Lot of People Work for You...

...LANrev Works for You, Too

Just because LANrev can do it all, doesn't mean you can. But delegating responsibilities doesn't have to compromise security. With LANrev's Role-Based Administration, when you delegate management tasks, you can assign only the powers needed to accomplish those tasks.

Some management tools are designed with a strict hierarchy, forcing your organisation to conform to some software company's idea of maximum efficiency. LANrev allows you to organise IT staff and responsibilities in whatever way makes sense for your organisation. For example:

  • A school district is divided into zones, with an administrator assigned to each zone. Zone administrators may be assigned full control and visibility over only the computers within their assigned zones, but no access to computers in other zones.
  • A corporation with specialised IT staff may allow all staff to view all computers, but restrict commands based on the role of that team; e.g., a software distribution team can package and distribute software; the help desk can change configurations, etc.
  • An accounting team member may be allowed to view inventory and licence monitoring information, but have no access to the command menus.

Like all of LANrev's functions, Role-Based Administration is smart, secure, and automated. Once an administrator is assigned a Smart Appointment Group, every client that is added to that group will automatically be assigned to the administrator, as well.

In addition, you can leverage your existing Active Directory infrastructure and security, using AD user accounts as LANrev Administrator accounts, and Active Directory OUs as LANrev Smart Appointment Groups. You can even save Administrator Profiles that you can apply to all administrators in similar roles, so you don't have to create a new profile for every individual.

LANrev works for you, not the other way around.
